Madrid, May 17, 2017 – KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has announced the launch of a new direct route between Amsterdam and the largest city in India, Bombay, which will take effect on October 29, 2017.
“The presence of the KLM network in India has grown enormously since we began our strategic cooperation with Jet Airways. The introduction of a direct flight to Mumbai, the economic heart of India, means that KLM is now able to offer its customers better access to 48 destinations across India, as well as other destinations on the Indian subcontinent and Asia. This latest addition will bring the total number of direct flights between the Netherlands and India to 31 weekly flights next winter and will be a great boost to ties between the two countries. ‘

Flight plan: Amsterdam-Bombay-Amsterdam
During the 2017-2018 winter season, KLM will operate three weekly flights to Mumbai, with departures on Monday, Thursday and Sunday. Passengers will travel aboard the latest model aircraft to join the KLM fleet, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which has 30 seats in World Business Class, 45 Economy Comfort seats and 219 Economy Class seats.
The flight will take off from Amsterdam at 1:00 p.m. (local time) and will arrive in Bombay at 1:55 a.m. the next day (local time). The return flight will take off from Bombay at 04:00. (local time) and will arrive in Amsterdam at 08:45 a.m. (local time).

Direct connections between the Netherlands and India
Until Jet Airways moved its flights from Brussels to Amsterdam, from where it currently operates daily flights to New Delhi and Mumbai, KLM was the only company that operated daily flights between Amsterdam and New Delhi.
Jet Airways has also recently announced that it will begin daily flights between Bangalore and Amsterdam.
