Last week 86 citizens of that country returned to Venezuela who had ventured to seek a better life abroad. The returnees were in Guayaquil and returned to their land thanks to the government program of the government of Nicolás Maduro called Vuelta a la patria.
These Venezuelan citizens arrived at the Maiquetía airport, which serves Caracas. The Efe agency explained that they were received there by the vice minister for Air Transport and president of the Conviasa airline, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán.
The official explained that more than 400,000 people have requested the Government of Venezuela to be repatriated with the plan. But since Vuelta a la Patria was launched in 2018, only about 22,900 Venezuelans have returned through that program, according to Venezuela’s Popular Ministry for Foreign Relations.
And the 86 who did so last Monday is a tiny figure of the millions of Venezuelans who have sought in neighboring countries – and even in other more distant ones, such as Spain – for better days away from a country that suffers from violence, insecurity. , threats, as well as the lack of food, medicine and essential services.
