As of this Sunday, the Balearic Islands are no longer on the list of risk areas for Germany. This was announced last Friday by the Robert Koch Institute of Virology, so the archipelago is already preparing to welcome its first visitors, starting with hotels, which are already registering reservations.
It will not be until next Sunday, March 21, the day on which the TUI tour operator resumes connections with the German cities of Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Hannover. This event was scheduled for the 27th; But the news from the Robert Koch Institute has accelerated the process.
Right now, the Islands are below 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants while in Germany it is 142, practically triple.
As it is not considered a risk area, those German citizens with a second residence in the Balearic archipelago can arrive now. Of course, it must be remembered that all non-residents of the Islands will have to provide a negative PCR test in the last 72 hours.
