In this first stage, its protagonists are Aerolineas Argentinas and JetSmart, while Flybondi had to postpone its landing until April because the concessionaire does not allocate space. After seven and a half months, and as announced, this Monday, March 15, the Jorge Newbery Airport in the City of Buenos Aires resumed operations, which had been closed since August 2020 to undergo a process of expansion and improvement of its infrastructures.
The inaugural flight of the renovated terminal features the Embraer 190 of Aerolineas Argentinas that arrives from the city of Córdoba at 7:10 p.m., wearing the new livery of the state company, after the merger with Austral.
In fact, the flag carrier reported that in this first stage the fleet of Embraer aircraft will move to the heart of Buenos Aires, to operate domestic flights and also some regional ones (not yet enabled for tourists). Only on April 22 will the Boeing 737 fleet be added.
And the fact is that this reopening of the Buenos Aires Airport, as is the case with national skies in general, will have Aerolineas Argentinas as its main protagonist, which will have operations to 39 destinations in that terminal.
This Monday the connections with Córdoba, Neuquén, Bariloche and Salta will debut, and from the 16th it will begin its routes to San Luis, San Juan, Río Cuarto, San Rafael, La Rioja, Jujuy, Santiago del Estero, Mar del Plata, Bahía Blanca, Rosario, Corrientes, Comodoro Rivadavia and Río Grande. And in the following days, Esquel, Paraná, Posadas, Trelew, Iguazú, Catamarca, Santa Fe, Ushuaia, Río Gallegos, El Calafate, Viedma, Formosa, Resistencia, Mendoza, San Martín de los Andes, Santa Rosa and Tucumán will continue.
