The Government will control from this Friday the accesses and exits of the cities of Spain to avoid unjustified mobility during the days included in the Easter period, which will begin tomorrow and will last until Monday, April 5.
The goverment will control
Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska indicated this Wednesday, at the press conference after the Interterritorial Health Office, that the device of the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) has adapted to the lower traffic expected this year, but It will try to control movements between provinces in communities such as Andalusia or Galicia where they are restricted, and also between some communities and others, where travel is generally not allowed. Above all, controls will be carried out by road and at train and bus stations.
Conversely, and also exceptionally this year, this Easter week the circulation of “heavy and special vehicles” will not be limited. Grande-Marlaska has pointed out that it is “unnecessary given the forecasts and the necessary decrease in the volume of traffic” and also appropriate that there are no limitations, to “facilitate the supply of urban centers.”
According to him, he explained, 62,400 members of the National Police and Civil Guard this Easter will ensure compliance with the restrictions, with special attention to women victims of gender violence, health personnel and the elderly. They will also be “attentive” to any situation of a “humanitarian nature” that may arise.
