The low cost announced the details of its new network based on the Buenos Aires terminal
After the confirmation that the Aeroparque de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires will resume its operations on March 15, the low cost JetSmart announced its network of domestic flights with hub at this terminal. Next, the detail route by route.
As HOSTELTUR had told it last February, on March 15 the Jorge Newbery Airport of the City of Buenos Aires will reopen its doors, after undergoing a process of expansion and improvement, for which it had to close in August 2020.
Confirmed that restart date, JetSmart announced what its network of flights will be from the terminal located in the heart of the capital of Argentina, a fact long claimed and expected by the low cost operating in the country, and that could be to be finalized after the closure of the El Palomar airport, in the context of the pandemic.
Through a statement sent to this medium, the company based in Chile, and owned by the US holding Indigo Partners, ratified that it will deploy its A320s there, while maintaining the so-called “Smart Routes”, which connect cities in the interior of the country without going through Buenos Aires.
“The new schedule of itineraries proposed with the incorporation of Aeroparque will encourage the development of regional economies thanks to a better and broader proposal of daily frequencies and schedules,” explained Darío Ratinoff, JetSmart commercial manager in Argentina.
Likewise, the low cost, which has been operating in the country for two years, reported that during the first two months of this year it averaged 92% in its punctuality and anticipated that it had planned a total of 840 flights throughout the country since March.
Meanwhile, as indicated, beyond this landing at the Buenos Aires terminal, the company will continue to operate routes that do not pass through Buenos Aires, such as Mendoza / Bariloche, Córdoba / Bariloche, Salta / Neuquén and Neuquén / Rosario, thus totaling 13 cabotage routes, which are added to its offer to Santiago de Chile.
