Here are all the information, requirements, documents and recommendations to travel interprovincially through Peru, as well as abroad, during the pandemic. We will be updating the information as new official communications are published.
To what places in Peru can you travel?
With the start of phase 4 of economic reactivation, in addition to opening international borders, it is also established that it is possible to travel to 58 more provinces than in phase 3, so 193 of the 196 provinces of Peru are covered.
The only provinces to which you CANNOT travel are: Huamanga, Huánuco and Abancay.
Until October 31, if you live in the provinces of Abancay (Apurímac), Huamanga (Ayacucho) or Huánuco (Huánuco), you will only be able to leave home to provide or access essential goods services and to carry out authorized economic activities. In the other departments and provinces, only those under 12 years of age and people in risk groups should remain in quarantine. In all cases, the use of a mask is mandatory to circulate on public roads.
Mandatory immobilization order: you will not be able to move on the street between 11:00 p.m. m. and 4:00 a.m. m. from Mondays to Sundays. In provinces with a targeted quarantine, this measure runs from Monday to Saturday from 8:00 p.m. m. until 4:00 a.m. m. and on Sundays, all day.
On Sundays, mandatory immobilization is maintained in the departments of Cusco, Puno, Moquegua and Tacna and the provinces of Abancay (Apurímac), Huamanga (Ayacucho) or Huánuco (Huánuco). In addition, this day the circulation of private vehicles is prohibited nationwide.
Protocol for interprovincial travel
The protocol for interprovincial transport establishes the following:
Users and crew must wear masks and face shields.
To avoid crowds, only the people who will make the trip should go to the terminal.
Passengers must also present an affidavit of health to be able to board the transport buses, in which they ensure they are not infected with the coronavirus.
The carrier may use 100% of the seats, as long as they implement a polyethylene curtain or other similar material that contributes to insulation. Otherwise, only the sites that are adjacent to the window can be used. It is not allowed to travel standing.
Affidavit of Health
The affidavit of health can be made online at the link above, or you can print the following and fill it out by hand.
Interprovincial trips in your own vehicle
The requirement is the same, you need the same affidavit of health to be able to move between the allowed provinces. On the way there are inspectors who will demand the document.
Some travelers have reported that screeners are also demanding the results of a rapid negative test within the last 72 hours. The rapid test can be done in practically any clinic or laboratory throughout the country.
According to the latest Ministerial Resolution, international travel is allowed with the following conditions. In Coronavirus: information for travelers, you can find the source of the information that we leave you below.
Mandatory use of a mask at the airport. On the plane you must wear a mask and face shield.
The mask can only be removed when eating food or drink. In addition, passengers may be required to remove the mask for a short time to compare their face with the photo of the travel document, such as the passport.
The passenger who travels must show a negative result of a molecular test performed within 72 hours before departure. The same requirement for passengers arriving in Peru. Get to know the laboratories in Peru that perform molecular tests at this link.
Travelers, crew members and airport staff in general should be encouraged to detect a person with COVID-19 compatible symptoms, they will not be able to make the trip. This requirement is indistinct for all passengers.
Travelers must fill out the “Electronic Health Affidavit, and commitment to isolate or quarantine the traveler” within 72 hours prior to the flight.
Failure to use a mask or the instructions given by the airlines, the airport or others, may lead to the cancellation of the boarding or cause to reject the passenger’s boarding to the Peruvian state.
