The Executive issued new measures for the land and air transport of passengers throughout the country, in accordance with the alert levels of the provinces against the coronavirus pandemic.
The new Minister of Production, José Luis Chicoma, reported that the vehicles of the Integrated Transportation System of Lima and Callao (SIT) will have a capacity of 100% with seated passengers, while the rest of the public transport units of classified cities will also with extreme risk against COVID-19 a capacity of 50%.
“In the rest of the areas that are not in the extreme alert level, the service will be provided transporting only seated users with the capacity of 100%,” he said at a press conference.
Regarding interprovincial transport that is reactivated throughout the country as of this Monday, José Luis Chicoma released new provisions in accordance with the alert levels of the provinces against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Extreme alert level
On trips longer than five hours that depart from provinces at an extreme alert level, the capacity will be 100% and passengers must present a molecular or antigen test with a negative result for COVID-19, obtained a maximum of 72 hours before boarding.
On trips of up to five hours, the molecular or antigen test will not be required. However, in this case, the capacity will be 50%, using only the seats next to the windows.
Very high alert level
On trips longer than five hours that depart from provinces with a very high alert level, the capacity will be 50%; while in trips of up to five hours it will be 100%. In both cases, passengers do not need to present the molecular or antigenic test.
For air travel?
The Executive indicated that passengers traveling within the country in airports located in the extreme sanitary level must present a molecular test (PCR) or antigen with a negative result. The test result must be a maximum of 72 hours.
